SAP ERP Central Component(ECC) is an enterprise resource planning system. It executes the overall updation of information, like if the information is updated in sales record then it will trigger to update information in the inventory record. It has a unified view of enterprise resources allowing managers to take decisions from referred data. Most of the medium and large-sized businesses use this system for efficient operational functioning.
SAP ERP Central Component includes components such as customer relationship management and supply chain management. It is comprised of ten functional core components and two technical components. Technical components such as ABAP and NetWeaver should be implemented in the system. ABAP is used for developing customized reports, in a specific reporting format for legal and financial purpose. NetWeaver ensures that there is an effective system administration of SAP ECC and certain authorization is provided to individuals or groups for better productivity. The functional components include financial accounting, controlling, sales and distribution, materials management, production planning, plant maintenance, quality management, customer service, project system, and human capital management.
Functional component playing an important part of recording company’s financial transactions, customers and vendors transactions. It handles receivables, payables, and cash management. The controlling component manages accounting related to cost center and profit center. This component is mainly used in manufacturing companies. Sales and distribution is involved in handling customer returns with issuing of billing and credit. Materials Management handles issuance of goods and material transfer between two different locations. Production planning aligns the demand and manufacturing capacity for efficient production, sales and distribution. Quality Management finds out the root cause of a product failure and ensures quality improvement in the ongoing manufacturing proves. Plant maintenance ensures prevention of machine failure and disruption in production. Customer service handles the process related to the maintenance services of the equipment. Project system controls the entire complex project of setting up or monitoring a plant. HCM handles entire leave, attendance, time management, payroll, etc. of an employee.
